Job summary:

Role specifics:

Regulatory Compliance & Sustainability Management:

Ensuring, monitoring, and future-proofing compliance with global consumer product regulations, including but not limited to:

- General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)

- REACH and other frameworks defining our RSL

- CE Marking requirements and EU harmonized standards, specifically within PPE (in close collaboration with our Product Managers)

- Packaging, Packaging marking and Packaging Recyclability

- Sustainability Reporting & Corporate Due Diligence Directives

- EUSPR regulation and DPP

- Proposition 65 and other US. American regulations

- Beyond regulatory compliance, this role will ensure that compliance frameworks are fully integrated across all sales and distribution channels, ensuring products remain compliant throughout their market presence.

Policy Development and Implementation

- Develop and implement company-wide compliance and sustainability policies, processes, and controls in line with global and local regulatory frameworks.

- Together with leadership, ensure compliance and sustainability programs are aligned with corporate objectives and risk management strategies.

- Continuously assess internal policies and update them based on changes in legislation, environmental standards, and best practices.

- Ensure that compliance obligations are reflected in the company’s contractual framework, addressing risks related to product specifications and evolving regulatory requirements.

Risk Assessment, Auditing & Sustainability Monitoring

- Lead internal audits and coordinate with external auditors to verify compliance with EU standards and sustainability goals.

- Plan and manage product testing, certification, and documentation to ensure regulatory conformity and environmental responsibility.

- Ensure compliance documentation (Certificates of Compliance, vendor certifications, and regulatory filings) is complete, up-to-date, and accessible for internal teams, suppliers, and retail partners.

- Investigate compliance and sustainability breaches, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Project Leadership

- Act as a central point of coordination between Product, Legal, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure compliance is actively managed across the business.

- Support the commercial and operations teams in navigating compliance-related matters, including global and local regulations.

- Drive alignment between internal teams and external partners, ensuring compliance requirements are clear at every stage of product development, production, and distribution.

Stakeholder Communication & Training

- Provide guidance and training to internal teams (R&D, QC/QA, Supply Chain) on regulatory requirements, sustainability goals, and best practices.

- Act as the key point of contact for regulatory bodies, industry groups, certification authorities, and sustainability organizations.

- Collaborate with legal and environmental teams to interpret and apply regulatory and sustainability developments to company operations.

- Support external communication with suppliers and vendors to ensure they meet compliance and sustainability obligations.

Monitoring & Future Regulatory & Sustainability Trends

- Keep up-to-date with emerging global regulations affecting consumer products, including sustainability and digital compliance trends.

- Advise leadership on strategic regulatory and sustainability shifts, ensuring future compliance readiness.

- Advocate for best practices in environmental and ethical compliance, aligning with the EU Green Deal and Circular Economy Action Plan.

- Lead initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our products, including lifecycle assessments, sustainable sourcing, and eco-friendly packaging innovations.

To be successful in this role, you are likely to have:

- At least 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance and sustainability, preferably within safety related products and/or apparel.

- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Engineering, Business, Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Science, or a related field.

- Strong knowledge of EU and international consumer product laws, sustainability frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

- Experience with CE marking, product safety documentation, sustainability certifications, and conformity assessments.

- A strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate business requirements to compliance and sustainability practices to various audiences.

- Experience of cross-functional work, with the ability to communicate and train others in complex regulations and sustainability standards effectively.

- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
