POC’s new cycling collection and chamois pad
POC’s new 2025 cycling season collection is led out by a new range of innovative bib shorts for men and women. As part of the new ‘Cadence’ road cycling collection, the new Cadence bib shorts feature unique gender-specific chamois/pads inspired by POC’s own testing, data, and research.
Created from scratch, the brand-new chamois/pads, ‘Novus’, are full of detail and significantly wider than what has come before. Inspired by data, they challenge the design consensus and will introduce female and male riders to a new idea of comfort and performance. The new road collection, Cadence, which features bib shorts, jerseys, and a host of accessories, will be joined by the new mountain bike collection, Motion, which features new products and innovation as well as classic styles. All the collections come in new seasonal colors.

INTRODUCING THE NOVUS CHAMOIS/PAD
The intersection where saddle and cyclist’s body meet is often a weak spot in comfort, performance and experience. Chamois/pads, have been around for as long as cycling and do make a difference, but they can often be basic and have reduced effect over time.
By using and analyzing pressure mapping technology across a range of rider types, positions, saddles, durations, and conditions, as well as working with experts in physiotherapy, gynaecology, and bike fit, POC concluded that a chamois/pad needed to be fundamentally different from what had come before.
MONICA LINDSTROM, APPAREL DIRECTOR AT POC, SAID:
“As the evidence from our research emerged, we realized that to really make the improvements we wanted female and male cyclists to have, then we would need to break with conventional thinking. The result is that the Novus chamois has very specific female and male constructions and is significantly wider and more ventilated. It features channel relief and innovative gel-layered construction for consistent pressure management regardless of duration.”

WIDER IS BETTER
Our data revealed that most cyclists, regardless of gender or riding position, need wider support than traditional chamois provide. Pressure mapping showed that sit bone pressure zones consistently exceeded the width of most pads, leading to the specific ergonomic design of the patent-pending Novus Chamois.
RELEASE THE PRESSURE / LAYERED GEL SUPPORT
/ MORE VENTILATED / GENDER SPECIFIC
The Novus Chamois is engineered to reduce pressure in key areas with strategically placed relief channels and gender-specific shaping tailored to different anatomies. A unique gel layer ensures lasting support, even on longer rides where foam-only pads can collapse. Combined with highly ventilated, breathable materials that enhance airflow, the Novus Chamois keeps riders cool, dry and comfortable — whether male or female, short ride or ultra-endurance.

NEW CYCLING SEASON COLLECTION - ROAD
POC has created completely new bib shorts as part of the Cadence collection to further enhance the Novus Chamois’s benefits. The brand-new bib shorts, including the Novus Chamois/pad, feature a four-way stretch material, ergonomic design, flatlock seams, precise silicone grippers, wider suspenders, enhanced breathability, and a restriction-free design around the stomach to support easy breathing and comfort.
The male-specific Cadence bib shorts also feature two styles. The Cadence Cargo Bib shorts introduce a new patent-pending design, developed to support the male anatomy with a new design that reduces pressure and restriction and enhances support as you ride.
The female-specific Cadence bib shorts, with its female-specific Novus Chamois, is also enhanced with an updated and improved suspender system design, which, since it was introduced, has led the way in creating bib shorts that allows female riders to take a nature stop without ever needing to take off their jersey or jacket.
The bib shorts are joined by brand-new Cadence jerseys for women and men in a variety of seasonal colours. The Cadence jerseys feature a precise cut, longer arms, a wider, secure hem, multiple pockets, and a highly breathable recycled fabric that
also offers factor 50 sun protection.

NEW CYCLING SEASON COLLECTION - MTB
POC’s heritage in Mountain bike apparel is well known, and the new Motion collection updates some classic styles with a host of new ones.
Highlights include the new Motion Dungaree for Women and Men, built for all kinds of riding as the seasons change. Constructed from light and flexible polyamide, it allows you to move and pedal freely and manage the cold, mud, and heat with ease.
The Women’s and Men’s Motion Air shorts are incredibly lightweight and perfectly balance the need for flexible and durable materials. With ventilation via small perforations in the crotch and inner thigh, overheating is never an issue, and with a PFC-free, durable water repellent, neither is managing wet conditions.
Alongside the shorts, there are a host of gender-specific Motion Air Jerseys and T-shirts. The fabric used in the Motion Air jerseys is lightweight technical polyester, which is fully recycled. Weighing 110g/sqm, the fabric is constructed in a mesh knit, providing airiness and ventilation.

MONICA LINDSTROM, APPAREL DIRECTOR AT POC,
COMMENTED ON THE COLLECTIONS, ADDING:
“The new cycling collections feature technical materials and updated designs that drive out distractions so any rider can focus on their specific goal and performance. Each piece will move naturally and inspire confidence, no matter how hard you want to push.”
APPAREL - ACCESSORIES - SOCKS, SOCKS, SOCKS
Details and accessories may be small, but they play a big part in a day on a bike. The new collections have been re-energized with new Cadence and Motion sock styles in various new colours, materials, styles and lengths.

TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH THE POC PROCESS
PRODUCT DETAILS - NOVUS CHAMOIS
By using and analyzing pressure mapping technology across a range of rider types, positions, saddles, durations, and conditions, as well as working with experts in physiotherapy, gynaecology, and bike fit, POC concluded that a chamois/pad needed to be fundamentally different from what had come before.
WIDER IS BETTER
Our data illustrated that most cyclists, regardless of gender, saddle type, and position, needed support that was wider than was typical in most chamois/pads. Both male and female riders’ pressure zones were consistently wider than the support chamois/pads offered, which led to the specific shape and design of the Novus Chamois.
RELEASE THE PRESSURE
It is common for female and male cyclists to suffer from discomfort in certain zones under high pressure during a ride. The Novus chamois is explicitly tuned to release pressure in these zones with larger channels in the centre and back of the chamois and having a specific length.

LAYERED GEL SUPPORT
Testing shows that foam-based pads lose their support over longer rides, especially if they become wet. By adding a gel layer within the foam layers, the Novus Chamois/pad allows for optimal support for short and longer-duration rides and will never collapse when wet.
MORE VENTILATED
Enhancing airflow and ventilation keeps the seated area dry and cool, which is fundamental in improving the rider experience, especially for female riders. The Novus Chamois/pad achieves this with variable material layers and air permeability designed together for airflow and breathability. This includes the gel layers, which feature open structures to allow air to pass through.
GENDER-SPECIFIC
The Novus Chamois comes in specific male and female versions as the rider needs are very different primarily due to anatomy and riding posture. Pelvis angles have directly influenced the length, breathability, and shape of the female chamois/pad, as well as the sit bone width and core strength, especially post-pregnancy. Most Chamois/pads are based on male anatomy so that the male Novus pad may look recognizable. Still, it is also very different from what had come before, with a much wider sit bone position and longer gel support through the pad, which resulted from tests illustrating the need for pressure relief across the Chamois/pad in different riding positions.
