WHAT OS VERSION DO I NEED TO USE THE OBEX CONNECT APP?
The app is compatible with iOS version 14.x and newer, and Android 8 and newer.

HOW DO THE OBEX CONNECT HEADSET FEATURES AFFECT BATTERY USAGE ON MY SMARTPHONE?
The Obex Connect headset does not use more power than other similar devices you may typically connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Remember that phone battery can drain more quickly in colder temperatures.
HOW DO I FIND THE FIRMWARE VERSION OF MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET?
You can find the firmware version by using the POC Connect app. The version is displayed in the lower right of the app settings page:
HOW DO I KNOW THAT A FIRMWARE UPDATE IS AVAILABLE?
The POC Connect app will display a large red prompt when a firmware update is available. Please make sure you download the app and connect the headset to keep firmware up to date.
WHERE DO I FIND FIRMWARE UPDATES?
You can find firmware updates on the main page of the app. A red slider will appear at the top of the screen when updates are available.
HOW DO I UPDATE THE FIRMWARE ON MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET USING THE POC CONNECT APP?
Step 1: Slide the red slider to the right to enter upgrade mode. Please ensure your headset has at least 50% battery remaining before starting any update process.
Step 2: The POC Connect app will automatically enter the upgrade page. Please make sure there are no other POC Connect apps open nearby. After the update begins, keep your device and headset close to each other, and do not close the app. The update may take up to 5 minutes.
Step 3: After the upgrade is complete, the headset will automatically connect back to the phone and enter the main page.
HOW DO I RECOVER FROM AN UNSUCCESSFUL FIRMWARE UPDATE?
If the update is unsuccessful and you cannot exit update mode, reset the device by holding buttons R1+R2 for 6 seconds, until a beeping sound is heard.

WHAT IS THE MESH?
Mesh is a means of connecting up to eight users together in a group to allow for open and easy communication.
CAN I USE MESH WITHOUT CONNECTING THE HEADSET TO MY PHONE?
Yes, you can hold L1 button 2 seconds to turn on the Mesh.
CAN I CREATE A PRIVATE MESH WITHOUT THE APP?
No. Private Mesh groups can only be created via the app. Using the Mesh via the headset only provides access public Mesh groups.
HOW DO I CHECK MY PRIVACY SETTINGS?
For Android:
1. Go to the Settings app on your device.
2. Tap on Security & Privacy or just Privacy.
3. Select Permission Manager to see which apps have access to different permissions like camera, location, and microphone.
4. Tap on a specific permission to see which apps have access to it and adjust as desired.
For iOS:
1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap on Privacy & Security.
3. Select the type of data (like Location Services, Contacts, etc.) to see which apps have requested access.
4. Tap on an app to change its permission settings as desired.
HOW DO I CHARGE MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET?
Charge the headsetusing a USB-C cable (provided). When charging, the LEDs light up according to the battery level:
Battery ≥ 95%: Constant Green
Battery < 95%: Blinking Red (On 1s, Off 5s)
HOW DO I CLEAN MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET?
Remove the earpads from the helmet. Do not put the earpads into water. Wipe the headset with a damp cloth with a solution of mild dish soap. The actual opening for sound can be carefully cleaned with a cotton swab and lukewarm water with mild dish soap. Make sure that no water enters the headphones.
HOW DO I MANUALLY RESET MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET?
Hardware reset: Press all three buttons together.
Factory reset: Hold buttons R1+R2 for 6 seconds. The LED will flash white
and red three times.
HOW DO I PAIR MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET WITH MY MOBILE DEVICE?
Step 1: When the headset is turned off, press and hold button R2 for 5 seconds.The headset will enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
Step 2: Open the Bluetooth settings of your phone and search for "Obex Connect_XXXX"
Step 3: Click the "Obex Connect_XXXX" and connect.
HOW DO I ACCESS MY PHONE’S VOICE ASSISTANT USING MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET?
If voice assistant is enabled on your phone, you can access it by holding button R1 for 2 seconds. A chime will alert when the voice assistant is ready. To turn off the voice assistant, press button R1 once.
HOW DO I SET MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET AS THE DEFAULT AUDIO DEVICE ON MY PHONE?
For Android:
1. Go to the Settings app.
2. Tap on "Connected devices" or "Bluetooth" (this may vary by device).
3. Ensure your Obex Connect Headset is paired and connected.
4. Go to "Sound" or "Audio" settings.
5. Select your Obex Connect Headset as the default audio output device
For iOS:
1. Go to the Settings app.
2. Tap on "Accessibility."
3. Scroll down and tap on "Touch."
4. Tap on "Call Audio Routing."
5. Choose "Bluetooth Headset" from the options

HOW DO I OPTIMISE THE AUDIO SETTINGS FOR A SPECIFIC ACTIVITY (I.E. LISTENING TO MUSIC, VOICE CLARITY)?
The headset offers three sound modes for you to choose from: Standard Music Mode, Bass Boost Mode, and Voice Mode.
Voice: When you are on a call or listening to the news, you can switch to the Voice Mode for clearer vocals
Music: When you are listening to music, you can select the Standard Mode for a more balanced sound
Music (Bass Boost): If you prefer more bass, you can switch to the Bass Boost Mode
Audio settings can only be controlled via the app. In the app, go to the settings page, then click ‘Music’. From here you can choose which mode you use.
POC recommends you do not listen to music while skiing or snowboarding as doing so may affect your awareness of your surroundings. Standing in the lift queue, on the lift, or while waiting for your group are the best times to enjoy music and fully benefit from the high-quality audio capabilities of the Harman Kardon speakers.
WHAT ARE THE RECOMMENDED GUIDELINES AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR CHARGERS?
Always use chargers that are safety-certified for use in your country. This ensures they meet local safety standards.
HOW MANY BLUETOOTH DEVICES CAN I PAIR WITH MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET?
The headset can support up to eight paired devices, but it is not possible for more than one device to be connected at any one time.
WHAT LEVEL OF WIRELESS SECURITY IS PROVIDED IN THE HEADSET?
1. The Obex Connect headset use Bluetooth 5.1, which includes strong encryption protocols to protect data transmitted between the headset and your device. This helps prevent unauthorized access and eavesdropping.
2. When pairing the headset with a device, authentication processes are used to verify the identity of the devices. This ensures that only authorized devices can connect.
3. Bluetooth 5.1 supports Secure Connections, which use Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) for key exchange. This provides robust protection against man-in-the-middle attacks and eavesdropping.
Troubleshooting
WHAT CAN I DO IF I EXPERIENCE HUMMING, BUZZING, ROBOTIC OR RATTLING NOISE WHEN I USE MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET?
First, please press the three buttons together to perform a hardware reset of the headset, then check to see if this solved the problem. If the problem persists, hold buttons R1+R2 for 6 seconds to perform a factory reset. If the issue still cannot be solved, the hardware may be damaged and we recommend you contact POC customer service or your local POC dealer.
WHAT CAN I DO IF I EXPERIENCE NO AUDIO/LOW AUDIO/INTERMITTENT AUDIO/NO AUDIO IN ONE EAR FROM MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET?
First, please press the three buttons together to perform a hardware reset of the headset, then check to see if this solved the problem. If the problem persists, hold buttons R1+R2 for 6 seconds to perform a factory reset. If the issue still cannot be solved, the hardware may be damaged and we recommend you contact POC customer service or your local POC dealer.
WHAT CAN I DO IF THE PAIRING STEPS ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL?
First, remove any previous headphone connections from your phone, if any are present. Then, attempt pairing the headset again. If that fails, please hold buttons R1+R2 for 6 seconds to complete a factory reset and then attempt to pair again.
WHAT DO I DO IF THE OBEX CONNECT HEADSET DOES NOT DETECT MY PAIRED DEVICE?
1. Forget and Re-Pair: On your device, go to Bluetooth settings, forget the Obex Connect Headset, and then try pairing it again.
2. Check for Interference: Ensure there are no other Bluetooth devices nearby that might be causing interference.
3. Proximity: Make sure your headset and device are within a reasonable range (usually within 10 meters) without any large obstacles in between.
WHY DID MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET SUDDENLY REBOOT?
1. Firmware Update: The headset automatically reboots after a firmware update to apply new settings.
2. Software Glitches: Occasional software bugs or glitches can lead to unexpected reboots.
WHY DID MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET SUDDENLY DISCONNECT FROM THE PAIRED PHONE?
1. Charging: For safety reasons, the headset will automatically turn off when charging, and if there is a paired phone, it will automatically disconnect.
2. Battery Level: Ensure that both your headset and phone have sufficient battery. Low battery levels can cause disconnections.
3. Interference: Other electronic devices, Wi-Fi networks, or even physical obstacles can interfere with the Bluetooth signal. Try moving to a different location or turning off other nearby Bluetooth devices.
4. Bluetooth Range: Make sure your headset and phone are within the effective Bluetooth range (usually about 10 meters)
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE MICROPHONE ON MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET PICKS UP MY VOICE INCONSISTENTLY OR PEOPLE SAY I AM CUTTING IN AND OUT WHEN MAKING PHONE CALLS?
1. Check the Connection: Ensure your headset is properly connected to your device. Try re-pairing the headset.
2. Microphone Position: Adjust the position of the microphone to be closer to your mouth. Sometimes, the mic might not be picking up your voice clearly if it's too far away.
3. Background Noise: Try to use the headset in a quieter environment. Background noise can interfere with the microphone's ability to pick up your voice clearly.
4. Device Settings: Ensure that your headset is set as the default input device on your phone or computer. You can usually find this setting in the audio or sound settings of your device.
5. Clean the Microphone: Dirt or debris can sometimes block the microphone. Gently clean the microphone with a soft cloth.
6. Test with Another Device: Try using the headset with another device to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the headset or the original device.
7. Reset the Headset: If none of the above steps work, perform a factory reset on the headset.
THE BUTTONS ON MY HEADSET DO NOT WORK, OR ONLY WORK INTERMITTENTLY. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
1. Check for physical damage: Inspect the buttons for any physical damage or debris that might be obstructing them. If the buttons are damaged, the headset may need replacing. Contact POC customer service for further advice.
2. Reset the Headset: Try resetting the headset to its factory settings.
3. Device Compatibility: Test the headset with another device to see if the buttons work there. If they do, the issue might be specific to your current device

WHY DO I HEAR BEEPS WHEN MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET CONNECTS TO A SMARTPHONE?
The headset beeps to signal that the headset has been successfully connected to the smartphone.
WHY IS THERE NO AUDIO IN MY OBEX CONNECT HEADSET WHEN I ANSWER AN INCOMING CALL ON MY SMARTPHONE?
The issue is to do with the system settings on your phone.On iOS, Please select Accessibility->Touch->Call audio routing->Bluetooth headset in the settings.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE POC CONNECT APP CAN'T FIND THE HEADSET?
Step 1: First make sure the headset is connected with smartphone via Bluetooth.
Step 2: Force quit the app and then open it again.
Step 3: Wait 5s to search the headset.
