Der dieses Jahr aktualisierte Mips-Helm ist mit einer medizinischen NFC-ID von Twiceme® ausgestattet, so dass Rettungskräfte am Unfallort auf wichtige medizinische Informationen zugreifen können, die ihnen helfen, in der lebenswichtigen "goldenen Stunde" unmittelbar nach einem Unfall die besten Behandlungsentscheidungen zu treffen. Ein RECCO®-Reflektor verbessert die Auffindbarkeit. Die im Vergleich zum Obex Mips dickere Polycarbonat-Schale sorgt für eine höhere Widerstandsfähigkeit. Der Helm ist mit dem POC Aid Communication Headset kompatibel und wurde für eine nahtlose Passform mit POC-Brillen entwickelt. Vollständig einstellbare Belüftung und abnehmbare Ohrpolster sorgen für hohen Tragekomfort.

Der Obex BC Mips verfügt über eine Außenschale aus zwei Materialien, wobei in besonders beanspruchten Bereichen widerstandsfähigere Materialien zum Einsatz kommen, während der Fornix BC eine einteilige Polycarbonatschale verwendet.
Der Obex BC Mips ist aufgrund seiner zusätzlichen strukturellen Verstärkung etwas schwerer (je nach Größe 500–590 g) als der Fornix BC (490–550 g) – ein Hinweis auf die zusätzliche Verstärkung.
Beide sind gemäß ASTM F2040 und EN 1077B für den Einsatz beim Ski- und Snowboardfahren zertifiziert.
