Reaching new peaks: Building on experience

POC is excited to release its new signature edition with leading freeride skier and current Freeride World Tour champion Hedvig Wessel. Designed exclusively with Hedvig it's a collection that draws on her natural talents and inspiration drawn whilst skiing and climbing on the beautiful and commanding mountains of Norway.

In conjunction with the launch of her new POC collection, we spoke to Norwegian Freeride World Tour 2024 champion Hedvig Wessel about the inspiration behind her latest collection and what lies ahead now that she has achieved the goal she has been focusing on for so long.

In 2021, Swedish alpine skier and speed events specialist Felix Monsén suffered a severe knee injury, which dramatically ended his season and kept him away from skiing for 16 months. The recovery period was so long that he chose to separate from the national team, and questions loomed as to whether he would ever compete again. But his love for and commitment to the sport remained as strong as ever, and he remained determined to make a comeback.

POC’s new 24/25 Winter season collection is led by a strikingly refined design language across its range of innovative and high-performance products. Cleaner lines and confident colours come together to enhance established and award-winning silhouettes and offer a new perspective on ski racing and life on the slopes.

Skiing is always a journey. Whether it is a run from top to bottom at the local ski hill or a road trip to the tallest mountain on the horizon, you have to be willing to put in the work to earn the reward. Sometimes, that means laying down a day’s wages for a lift ticket. Other times, it could mean six months in the gym rehabbing a blown knee so you can get back out there next winter. Some days, we get lucky and score perfect conditions without even trying. But usually, the harder we work, the more patient we are, the further we venture, the better the reward.

Ahead of the new ski season, POC and Marco Odermatt are proud to introduce a new signature edition helmet, which has been designed exclusively by Marco and POC, and developed for Marco to use during the non-competition days in the season.
