Dielectrophoretic Raman Scattering Biosensor (DIRASBI)

DIRASBI is a label free and reagent free pathogen detection system capable of autonomous sample handling and identification of up to 100 pathogens in under 20 minutes.

Applications: Rapid battlefield pathogen detection, clinical diagnostics, reagent free sampling of blood analysis.

Availability: Lab demonstration will be available by mid 2007, and will be ready for transitioning in 2008.

Membrane-based Interferometric respiration sensor (MIRS)

MIRS is being developed for the Advanced Container Security Device (ACSD) and for the next generation Maritime shipping container security system with multiple sensing modalites, “Smart” condition monitoring, automated alerting, and advanced communications. MIRS is an inactive, low-cost sensor that detects the presence of humans hiding in shipping containers or in buildings by sensing variations in carbon dioxide concentrations.

Applications: Human presence detection in shipping containers, buildings, in addition to security and search rescue applications .

Availability: Lab Demonstrations are available.
