MIRS is being developed for the Advanced Container Security Device (ACSD) and for
the next generation Maritime shipping container security system with multiple sensing
modalites, “Smart” condition monitoring, automated alerting, and advanced communications.
MIRS is an inactive, low-cost sensor that detects the presence of humans hiding
in shipping containers or in buildings by sensing variations in carbon dioxide concentrations.
Applications: Human presence detection in shipping containers,
buildings, in addition to security and search rescue applications .
Availability: Lab Demonstrations are available.
