HEAR™ - Infrared Non-Destructive Evaluation Instrument For Aircraft Coatings
POC has developed a Hand - Held Hemispherical - Dome Emissivity And Reflectance (HEAR) Sensor System. This light weight portable spectrometer / reflectometer will quickly verify and quantify the infrared properties of protective paints, coatings and defects directly on aircraft surfaces. The NDE (non - destructive evaluation) measures low reflectance IR properties of aircraft coatings, paints, and surface qualities from 2 to 5 microns (IR) and is expandable to 5 to 14 microns (LWIR), within 60 seconds. Flat, concaved and convexed surface reflectance can be quickly measured and then repaired.
