End-Of-Life (EOL) – Life Cycle Management
POC takes a proactive approach to the rapidly changing lifecycle of COTS components. Every customer is provided with advanced notifications of EOL items as well as a preliminary replacement strategy to facilitate testing, long before components are no longer available. POC works intently with its suppliers to get accurate roadmaps and formulate design criteria for each system to ensure the longest shelf life possible. In the event a particular component must be used, POC can maintain life-purchase stock to facilitate the progression of the program.
POC maintains an obsolescence plan designed to support your product throughout its lifecycle. POC maintains EOL (End Of Life)/Obsolescence information on all parts used in the products within our system. This information is gathered weekly, monthly, and quarterly based upon commodity type. Manufacturer information relative to EOL and LTB (Last Time Buy) dates are transmitted to the customer. POC works with our vendors and customers to identify solutions for additional procurements and follow on parts which are form, fit, function replacements. After notification of a pending EOL component is made, POC works with the customer to obtain a recommended replacement part for testing in the product affected. POC also works with the customer to identify unique procurement options for the situation which could range from placing a LTB order to stocking customer parts for usage on future orders including service, support, spares, and other program needs.
POC will minimize the impact of all known obsolescence issues from design through life cycle support and will choose components with reasonable life cycle expectancy during the design phase. These components will reflect the best in quality and component class with the longest currently available road map life cycle. POC designs will provide design flexibility in regard to anticipated technology changes in order to meet changes driven by expected trends such as Moore’s Law.
For customers that require enhanced services such as custom engineering or obsolescence and life-cycle services, we develop comprehensive obsolescence management programs tailored to meet specific needs. Our technology management and technology insertion programs assist our customers with operational and maintenance management and reducing overall program life-cycle costs.

Earned Value Management System
POC has an Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) that is compliant with ANSI/EIA 748. POC key staff members have extensive experience in analyzing EVM data using EV predictive metrics to proactively manage large government programs with EVMS, contract work breakdown structures, integrated master schedules, and CSDR requirements.
POC has taken a multi-faceted approach to a technology transition strategy. POC will integrate a cross-functional transition integrated product team (TIPT) supported by customer user’s and 3rd party Tier 1 platform integrators. During the initial phase of transition, requirement definition, technology risk/reward tradeoffs and identification of real world technology deployment needs, POC will be relying on collaboration all parties to ensure the technology satisfies usage needs in a tactical operational environment. Our key goals in the development/maturation phases are to demonstrate the technical value, identify and mitigate potential barriers and validate how the technology will be used, establish performance metrics (storage density, throughput, environmental requirements, informational security needs and scalability) and support on platform requirements. This process will result in a smoother transition from development, prototype demonstration, to an affordable, operationally suitable system for the end user needs.
